Redesign your business

Discover how to design circularity into your business and make the most of resources to cut costs and tap into new revenue opportunities.

Pilot a circular initiative

We’re looking for businesses who want to trial circular strategies in their company. Whether it's designing a new product or renting something out instead of selling it, we'd love to hear from you.

We'll help you refine your ideas, design a pilot, test the feasibility and once finished, evaluate the outcome. See what we're looking for below and if any of the suggestions match your aspirations, get in touch.

Pilot 1.

Circular design

Are you keen to design a product that is genuinely circular?

We’ll help you explore the options you have in designing products that can last longer, be easily repaired or upgraded and be easily dismantled at the end of use, while designing out waste throughout the value chain.

Pilot 2.

Take back scheme

Instead of not knowing where your products end up when your customers are finished with them, why not reclaim them? We can help you plan a take back scheme where you collect your products or packaging at the end of their use, to either resell, reuse, repair, remanufacture or recycle. By giving them a new life, you ensure that their materials remain in use for much longer while potentially reducing costs and and making sure you recoup some of the materials’ value for yourself.

Pilot 3.

Leasing and rental

Instead of selling your assets just once, maintain ownership for longer by either leasing or renting them to your customers. We’ll help you design a system so that you maximise the value of the things you currently sell, your equipment and your space.

What to expect

Phase 1

  • Work closely with our expert circular economy business advisors to validate the economic and environmental impact of your pilot proposition
  • Receive practical feedback and guidance on its high-level feasibility

If your pilot shows promise and is selected for the next phase, your advisor will prepare a project plan for pilot implementation.

Phase 2

  • Bring the whole team together to take a deep dive into all of your circularity options and co-create your circular pilot strategy
  • Receive an in-depth economic and technical feasibility study including an assessment of its environmental performance
  • Trial your dream circular solution in the real world with support from a business advisor throughout
  • Evaluate the results and plan the next steps to scale the project

How it works

01

Explore

Initial diagnostic meeting and high-level pre-feasability study to decide on the suitability of the solution.

02

Define

Workshop with key stakeholders to discover the pain points that need to be tackled for a solution that works for all.

03

Model

Design a prototype solution and undertake an economic and technical feasibility study with an assessment of the environmental performance.

04

Pilot

Test the solution with a selected product and range of selected customers. Record and report success and/or failure factors.

05

Evaluate & Scale

Evaluate the performance, refine the solution and develop the scaling strategy.

Applications for our pilot stream are open throughout the year. Places are limited and successful applicants will be notified if they have been selected by one of the Advance London business advisors.
